Through the years I have done a lot of charity work for causes that I believed in or causes that my friends and family have believed in. I have bought pizza kits, tickets, gone to games to cheer on the kids, and done lots of other things for my friends and family. I hope that I have built up enough karma to be able to put this out there into the universe. This summer I will be attending a required field camp for 6 weeks. The cost of camp, including room and board, also including paying bills in Mount Pleasant while I won’t be able to work will be around $7000. There are scholarships available to help defray this cost, but they will not cover nearly enough. Therefore I am asking my friends, associates, family, bar-quaintences to invest in my future. I have developed several options of this Johnny Shoes fundraiser for people to take advantage of. I hope to run this from February 1st to June 1st, but the sooner the donations and investments are set up, the better.

Incentive-based options:

• Pledge $10 and enjoy a half hour session of Fat Guy Yoga, as developed by Ashley Rae and I.

• Pledge $25 and share in one of my favorite healthy meals, followed by Fat Guy Yoga.

• Pledge $50 and share a workout, meal, and Fat Guy Yoga or disc golf lesson or round if you already know how to play.

• Pledge $100 and receive all the previously mentioned rewards.

Unfortunately the incentive based donations will be restricted to Mount Pleasant, and close surrounding areas.

There are other ways that you can invest in me and my future, and that is through a walk-a-thon approach over the course of the 4 months that I am working on this. You can pledge a dollar per pound lost, inch lost, or per mile walked/ridden/swam.

If none of these options seem to be what you want to do, you can always simply donate.

Since August 1st of 2014, I have lost 44 pounds and 21.5 inches off my body. As we all know, I can do more. The cost of field camp is a great incentive for me to put all this out there and hope some friends decide to take a leap of faith and knowledge with me. I’m really trying to keep this post positive and optimistic.
